A Mitamar aircraft crashed in a residential area that killed three people in one house and damaged at least another home, and two cars, fire and police officials.
The accident, which happened the plane, an F/A-18D, was preparing to land at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar about two miles away, as Federal Aviation Administration said.
The Air Station is the base for the Third Marine Aircraft the largest military bases in Southern California.
